The TAPPI T 524 standard specifies a paper and Cardboard Color Measuring method using 45/0 geometrical optics and a CIE C Light source. The method calculates tristimulus values X (red), Y (green), Z (blue) using a tristimulus filter colorimeter or spectrophotometer measurement paper reflectance, and can be converted to a variety of Color Space systems, such as Hunter L, a, b or CIE L *, a *, b *, etc. Color characteristics of paper and Cardboard can be evaluated using this method, especially in the fields of printing, Encasement and quality control.
