The TAPPI T 453 standard specifies procedures for dry heat treatment of paper and Cardboard, as well as general procedures for testing heat-treated materials. The method simulates conditions of accelerated aging by exposing paper or Cardboard to a high temperature drying environment, thus assessing its long-term Stability. The test results can be used to infer the aging mass of paper, compare the durability of different papers, and provide a scientific basis for the preservation and use of paper. The standard is applicable to printing and writing papers, and can also be used for Miscellaneous types of paper and Cardboard.
