GB/T 38405.2-2025 "Leather and fur, Determination of chlorinated hydrocarbons, Part 2: Medium-chain chlorinated paraffins" is a new national standard for the detection of harmful substances in the leather industry in our country. The standard was formulated by the Chinese Academy of Inspection & Quarantine Sciences, which innovatively established a detection method system for medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) in leather and fur products, and improved the standard gap in this field. The standard adopts advanced analytical technology, systematically specifies key links such as sample pretreatment, instrumental analysis, quality control, etc., and is suitable for chemical security evaluation of various leather products raw materials and finished products. As an important technical basis for market supervision, the standard will be officially implemented on November 1, 2025, which is of great significance for protecting consumer health and promoting international trade.
