The ASTM D1735 standard specifies a procedure for testing coating water resistance using a water mist device. This test evaluates the water resistance of coatings by simulating a water mist environment under high Humidity conditions. Unlike ASTM B117's salt spray testing, this standard uses softening water that does not contain sodium chloride and is suitable for simulating milder humid conditions.
