The ASTM D4828-16 standard test method is used to evaluate the relative ease with which indoor architectural coatings can remove dirt or stains from paint films in actual use. This method detects the washability and Appearance changes of coatings by performing manual or mechanical cleaning of coatings using household cleaning materials such as sponges and liquid or powder cleaners. This test helps formulators evaluate the effect of Coating formulations on cleaning performance and provides a reference for users to compare the decontamination capabilities of different Coatings. The standard applies to the evaluation of the cleanability of internal coatings, but does not address all safety concerns associated with standard use.
