This standard test method provides guidance for sampling the properties of metals and inorganic coatings to ensure the overall mass of the coated product. By sampling inspection, the mass of a group of products can be estimated, thus providing a basis for buyers and sellers to determine the minimum mass level. Sampling plans help control the risk of errors, but may not fully reflect the mass of the product. The sampling plans used in the standard are selected from MIL-STD-105D and are suitable for different inspection needs. The method does not cover all safety issues.
