The ASTM D5590-17 (2021) standard test method is used to determine the resistance of paint and related coatings to fungal fouling. This standard provides an accelerated laboratory test method to evaluate the antifungal performance of different Coatings under specific conditions by observing fungal growth on a surrounding Agar plate. Although this method is effective in comparing the relative performance of Coatings, it does not fully simulate fungal growth in the real environment. Users need to have basic microbiological technical knowledge to ensure the Reliability of test results. This method should not replace the actual outdoor exposure test.
