The ASTM D1084-16 (2021) standard method is used to determine the viscosity of Adhesives. It is suitable for viscosity determination of newtonian fluid and near newtonian fluid. The standard includes four test methods: Method A is suitable for stable delivery of 50 mL Adhesives; Method B measures Adhesives with a viscosity range of 0.05 Pa · s to 200 Pa · s; Method C is used for viscosity control; Method D is used for lower viscosity Adhesives. The test method focuses on the viscosity of self-leveling gluing agents and does not consider the influence of thixotropic and plasticity materials. Its results are influenced by stirring rate and Adhesive history. The purpose of this standard is to provide consistent viscosity measurement methods for the production and application of Adhesives, ensuring that products comply with engineering and use requirements.
