The purpose of this standard is to evaluate the Color Stability of building structural sealants under accelerated aging conditions in the laboratory. The test observes changes in the Color of the sealants by simulating the effects of ultraviolet radiation, moisture and heat. The method involves exposure using a Fluorescent Ultraviolet or Xenon-arc lamp device, but note that the Light spectrum Power distribution of different devices may affect the comparison of test results. Test results should be based on accurate procedures and conditions, and laboratory test results alone cannot predict Color Stability in the actual use environment. For long wavelength ultraviolet and visible light sensitive sealants, laboratory conditions may differ from actual use conditions.
