The ASTM F1519-98 (2019) standard provides a test method for the qualitative analysis of volatile extracts in microwave receptors. This method is used to evaluate the volatile compounds released by microwave receptors during use, helping to reduce the amount and type of volatile extracts. The test covers the analysis of extracts by gas chromatograph/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) under simulated use conditions. This method is suitable for complete microwave receptors and enables the detection of volatile extracts at levels of 0.010 μg/in ². It is recommended to combine Miscellaneous techniques such as GC/HRMS or GC/IR to verify or identify unknown extracts.
