The ASTM D3121-17 standard test method is used for the measurement of Rolling Ball Tack of Pressure sensitive adhesives. This test method is simple, fast, easy to operate, with less equipment investment, and is suitable for quality control. By measuring the relative tack of low tack Adhesive, it is able to provide good repeatability within a single laboratory and accurately detect differences between batches. However, due to the low correlation of the rolling ball tack test with the tack requirements in practical applications, it is not recommended for specification formulation of end-use products. This method is not suitable for high tack Adhesive, nor is it suitable as a research tool.
