ASTM D5375/D5375M-98 (2019) standard test methods are used for the measurement of the maximum force value required to disbond liners at high speed from pressure-sensitive label paper. These test methods are suitable for use in the development and mass assurance phases to help determine the adhesion and uniformity of labels and liners. Tests can be applied between papers or rolls, as well as for comparison between different production batches. The standard states that changes in label backing, coatings and gluing agents may affect test results, but do not apply to labels with rigid linings or highly tensile linings. Users are required to adhere to safety codes and operate in accordance with international standards principles.
