This standard specification covers paper-backed pressure-sensitive tapes for light-duty Encasement and masking. There are two types: Type I (crepe paper backing) and Type II (flat paper backing). The specification requires that the construction and material of the tape must meet the specified physical performance standards, including tests for accelerated aging, gluing, stretching and elongation, tack and thickness. The sample prepative and test frequency should follow the corresponding test method. This specification provides standardized test methods for product design and quality control, but does not solve all safety issues. Users need to establish their own safety specifications.
