This standard provides a method for evaluating inks or Coating adhesion on soft Encasement materials by using adhesive tape. Inadequate adhesion may affect the readability of the printing material or the function of the Coating. This practice focuses on reducing differences between laboratories by defining the pressure applied by the adhesive tape, the method (e.g. using a weighted roller), and the speed and angle at which the tape is removed. The standard does not set a standard for acceptability of adhesions, which is to be determined by the user in consultation with the producer.
