The ASTM F3136-22 standard describes a procedure for measuring oxygen transmittance (OTR) of Plastic films and flakes using the dynamic accumulation method. This method is suitable for a variety of plastic materials, including films, flakes, laminates, and coated papers, and is used to evaluate the performance of Encasement materials in different applications. In some cases, Encasement needs to allow oxygen penetration, and in Miscellaneous cases, oxygen entry needs to be restricted to maintain product mass.
