The ASTM D2565-2016 standard provides an exposure test method for testing the resistance of plastics to Xenon-arc Light sources in outdoor conditions. The method simulates the effects of light, heat and moisture on the Electrical, Mechanical and Optical Properties of plastic materials, but does not include the effects of atmospheric pollution or Miscellaneous environmental factors such as saline water. The standard emphasizes that control materials with known performance should be used in testing to ensure Reliability of results and care should be taken to maintain and calibrate when operating equipment. The repeatability of test results is good, but all test conditions should be documented in detail to ensure accuracy of data.
