The CB 1171.5-1987 standard provides test methods for determining the content of salt fog and sedimentation rate in the marine atmosphere and marine environment, including the inhalation method and the wet abrasive paper method. The standard aims to evaluate the corrosion effect of environmental conditions on materials. Although it has been replaced by the CB/T 4389.5-2013, its test method is still valuable for understanding the performance of materials in harsh environments.
