      The GMW 14872-2013 standard describes an accelerated laboratory Cyclic Corrosion test method for evaluating the corrosion resistance of components and assemblies. The method accelerates the corrosion process of metals by simulating the corrosion in actual use by combining cycles of salt solution, different temperatures, Humidity and environmental conditions. The test can effectively evaluate a variety of corrosion mechanisms, such as general corrosion, current corrosion and crevice corrosion. The test cycles in the standard include salt fog, wetting and drying stages, each cycle is about 24 hours. The test results help to judge the corrosion resistance of parts and need to match the actual use conditions to ensure the long-term Reliability of the product.
