This standard provides a test method for assessing indoor atmospheric corrosion, in particular the rate of corrosion determined by standard metal samples. It describes how corrosion tests can be performed using standard samples such as copper, silver, zinc, steel and lead to derive corrosion categories for indoor environments. Compared to the previous edition, the new version of the standard introduces lead as a standard sample highly sensitive to vapor organic acids, and adds Appendix D to improve the Accuracy and Reliability of the test. This method is widely recognized as an economical and effective means of assessing corrosion.
