The GB/T 31586.1-2015 standard specifies the pull-off test method for protective coatings systems for coating adhesion/cohesion (failure strength) in anti-corrosion protection of steel structures. The standard is applicable to protective paint coatings of any thickness on steel substrates with a thickness of not less than 10mm. Quantitative evaluation of coating adhesion is carried out by using different types of pull-off test equipment. The standard describes in detail the test equipment, sample prepative, test procedure and result evaluation, providing a scientific basis for steel structure coating mass control and acceptance.
