This method is suitable for rapid assessment of water-soluble chlorides content on the surface of steel, easy to operate, suitable for non-professional use, and can meet most practical purposes. The standard is centralized by the China Shipbuilding Industry Group company, and is implemented by the National Coating and Pigment Standardization Technical Committee of Pre-Painting Metal surface preparation and Painting Process Sub-technical Committee. It was issued on September 14, 2005 and implemented on April 1, 2006.
