This standard specifies the determination of the density of powder coatings using the liquid displacement Specific Gravity bottle method. This method is based on the measurement of the mass and volume of the tested powder and is suitable for Coating powders with a density of less than 1 g/cm ³. The standard revisions include updating the reference standard for Specific Gravity bottles, adjusting the filling order, and clarifying acceptable differences in results. This method is updated from the ISO 787-10 standard, removing the requirement to clean Specific Gravity bottles with acetone, and standardizing the test procedure to improve the accuracy and conformity of the test.
