The ISO 16053:2022 standard specifies test methods for evaluating the aging performance of outdoor wood coatings systems in the natural environment. Applying to wood coatings for planing and sawn timber decoration and protection, the standard provides methods for simulating coating performance under outdoor exposure conditions, including the selection of wood tree species and testing conditions. The new version has been updated with wood tree species, adding content for tape testing and wood thermal/chemical modification to more comprehensively assess the durability and performance of Coating systems.
