      This standard describes an analytical method for the determination of niobium and tantalum content in ferroniobium using a paper-colored layer separation weighting method. The separation of niobium, tantalum and Miscellaneous impurities is achieved by using methyl isobutyl ketone, butanone, hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid as Ion exchangers on colored paper coated with ammonium nitrate. After color development of niobium and tantalum, the content of niobium and tantalum is obtained by cutting off the color ribbon and burning and weighing. This method provides technical support for the accurate analysis of niobium and tantalum content in ferroniobium samples.
