The standard covers safety requirements for electric shock, electric burns, mechanical hazards, flame spread, excessive temperature, fluid pressure, radiation effects (including lasers, sound pressure and ultrasonic pressure), gas release, explosion, implosion, and biological and chemical hazards. The standard does not address the function of equipment, performance, Encasement effectiveness, electromagnetic compatibility, explosion protection measures, and protection of maintenance personnel. Climate environmental test chambers can operate below or above Environmental temperature and are used to perform tests under a variety of climate conditions.
