This standard describes a method for assessing the flame propagation characteristics of flame retardant Coatings under 2-foot tunnel conditions. By using small test samples, this method provides an effective tool for evaluating the relative flame propagation of coatings, particularly for initial screening of flame retardant Coatings. However, the test results in this standard are not directly correlated with those of the conventional E84 tunnel test method and cannot be used as an accurate predictive tool for final flame retardant performance. Nor does the standard address all factors under actual fire conditions.
