This standard specifies a method for the determination of mercury content in iron ore by cold atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), suitable for natural iron ore, iron concentrate and lump ore and sintered products. The determination range is 0.00005% to 0.0050%. After the sample is digested by muriatic acid and nitric acid in a closed Microwave Digestion System, the mercury content is determined by cold AtomicAbsorption Spectroscopy at a wavelength of 253.7 nm. This method provides an accurate technical basis for the detection of trace mercury in iron ore.
