This standard specifies the silver chloride settling-flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) method for the determination of silver content in silver, which is suitable for the measurement of samples with a silver content in the range of 99.850% to 99.980%. This method involves dissolving the sample in nitric acid, adding sodium chloride to form silver chloride. After settling, the Absorbance of the remaining silver ions is measured by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (FAAS) at a wavelength of 328.1 nm, and then the silver content is determined.
