This standard applies to the determination of nitrobenzene, nitrotoluene, nitrochlorobenzene and dinitrotoluene in surface water, groundwater and industrial wastewater. The method uses Gas chromatography, CG, by acidifying the water sample and extracting it with benzene, and then using Gas Chromatograph with Electron capture detector, EPS. The minimum detection concentration of this method is 0.2 μg/L for nitrobenzene and 0.3 μg/L for DNT, which is suitable for the detection of organic pollutants in environment monitoring.
