This standard specifies a method for the determination of copper content in surface water, groundwater and industrial wastewater. It is suitable for water samples with a copper concentration of 0.02 to 0.60mg/L. The method forms a yellow-brown complex of copper with sodium diethyldithioamino formic acid, which is determined by spectrophotometry at 440nm wavelength. Interfering substances such as iron, manganese, nickel, etc. can be eliminated by masking using EDTA and ammonium citrate. The method is suitable for copper content analysis in environment monitoring and water quality testing.
