This standard specifies the steps and requirements for the determination of nickel content in ferronickel using the EDTA Titrimetric method. It is suitable for samples with nickel content ranging from 12.00% to 85.00% in ferronickel. In the method, the sample is dissolved by nitric acid and muriatic acid, and the sample with high silicon content needs to be dissolved by fluoric acid and perchloric acid analysis. The nickel content is finally calculated by using fluoride to mask iron, aluminum, titanium, sodium hexametaphosphoric acid to mask manganese in a slightly acidic environment, adding excess EDTA, and titrating the unreacted EDTA with copper standard solution with PAN as an indicator. This method ensures the accurate determination of nickel content, and at the same time effectively corrects the influence of copper and cobalt. The reagents used need to be analytically pure.
