      This standard specifies a method for the determination of total iron content in iron ores using the automatic potentiometric titrator. It is suitable for natural iron ores, iron concentrates and sintered products with copper, vanadium and manganese content less than 0.1% respectively. The determination range is 40% to 70%. The method dissolves the sample by muriatic acid, reduces the iron with stannous chloride and titanium trichloride respectively, and potassium dichromate is used for oxidation. Finally, the total iron content is determined by an automatic Potentiometric titrator.
