This standard specifies the method for the determination of the initial tack of adhesive tape - the ring method. This method is suitable for the evaluation of the initial tack of adhesive tape, mainly for product quality control and research and development. The test is carried out by placing the adhesive tape in a ring on a specified area of the test plate, and using the initial adhesion force of the ring adhesive tape in contact with the test plate under the action of its own weight. The force value when separating the test plate is the initial tack. Two test methods are introduced in the standard: one is the traditional method using the Tensile machine, and the other is the automated method using the automatic ring initial adhesion performance tester.
