This standard specifies a method for the determination of aluminum content in ferroboron using the EDTA Titrimetric method. It is suitable for samples of ferroboron with aluminum content ranging from 1.00% to 8.00%. During the determination, the sample is first dissolved with nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid, and impurities are removed. After filtrating, it is combined with the main liquid. Iron ions are removed by methyl isobutyl ketone, and then aluminum and Miscellaneous impurities are separated using sodiumhydrate. By adding excess EDTA, at pH 5.5, titrate the excess EDTA using PAN indicator and copper sulfate standard solution, and release the aluminum EDTA with sodium fluoride, and drop back again with copper sulfate standard solution to calculate the aluminum content.
