This standard specifies the operation steps for the determination of aluminum content in ferrotitanium using the EDTA Titrimetric method. The applicable range is 3.00% to 12.00% mass fraction of aluminum. The test method includes analysis of the sample with nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid, separation treatment with hexamethylenetetramine and strong base, and then titration with PAN indicator using EDTA standard titration solution. Finally, the aluminum content is calculated by back titrating excess EDTA and replacing aluminum with sodium fluoride. The reagent used needs to be analytically pure, and the water used in the experiment should be distillation water or water of equivalent purity.
