This standard specifies the method for determining the gold content in gold, platinum and palladium alloys, which is suitable for a variety of gold-containing alloys, including AuAg, AuAgPt, AuNi, etc. The method uses the mixed acid of muriatic acid and nitric acid for analysis of the sample, and the platinum alloy and the alloy containing rhodium and iridium are analyzed with muriatic acid and hydrogen peroxide. The gold and Miscellaneous metals are separated by the reduction of gold by cuprous chloride, and then Au (II) is reduced to Au (0) in sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid medium with ferrous sulfate standard titration solution. The mass fraction of gold is determined by potentiometry. The applicable gold content range of this method is 3% to 99.5%.
