This standard specifies a method for the determination of nickel content in gold alloys. It is suitable for AuNi, AuNiCu, AuNiln and AuNiFeZr alloys, and the nickel content ranges from 5% to 20%. The method uses a mixed acid of muriatic acid and nitric acid to dissolve the sample, separates the gold by sulfite reduction, and uses dimethyl glyoxoxime ethanol solution to settle to separate the nickel. Then, the nickel content is determined by using excess disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA) complexed with nickel, and xylenol orange as an indicator. The method provides an accurate nickel content determination process and technical requirements.
