This standard specifies two methods for the determination of iron content in metallic manganese, silicon manganese alloys, ferromanganese and ferromanganese nitride. The Spectrophotometric method, spectrophotometry is suitable for the determination of iron content in metallic manganese in the range of 0.001% to 1.00%. The method is used to determine Absorbance at a wavelength of 517 nm by the color reaction of iron with phenanthrene. Titanium trichloride-potassium dichromate Titrimetric method is suitable for samples with iron content in the range of 1.00% to 35.00%. The method is used to determine iron content by chemical titration. The standard ensures accurate determination of different iron content ranges and is suitable for quality control and analysis of related metals and alloys.
