This standard specifies a method for the determination of zinc content in lead concentrates, which is applicable to lead concentrates with a zinc content range of 1.0% to 10.0%. In the method, the sample is dissolved with potassium chlorate saturated nitric acid, and the lead is separated by sulfuric acid smoke settling. In an ammonia medium, iron, manganese, bismuth and other interfering elements are separated by oxidation agent settling, and copper and aluminum are removed by masking agent sodium sulfate and ammonium fluoride. In the range of pH 5.56.0, the total amount of zinc and cadmium is titrated by EDTA standard solution with xylenol orange as an indicator. The amount of cadmium is determined by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), and then the amount of cadmium is subtracted from the total amount of zinc and cadmium to obtain the content of zinc.
