This standard specifies a method for the determination of zinc and cadmium content in cadmium zinc telluride using the Inductance coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (AES) method. It is suitable for the determination of zinc content in cadmium zinc telluride in the range of 1.00% to 20.00% and cadmium content in the range of 18.00% to 46.00%. The method measures the intensity of the characteristic lines in the Inductance coupled plasma Atomic EmissionSpectrometer by dissolving the sample with nitric acid and muriatic acid, using yttrium as the Internal standafe element, and calculates the content of zinc and cadmium using the standard Linear dispersion.
