This standard specifies a method for the determination of fluorine content in iron ore using the Ion selective electrode method. Measurement ranges from 0.005% to 1.00% of fluorine mass fraction for natural iron ore, iron concentrates, lump ores and their sintered products. The method consists of melting the sample with sodiumhydrate, dissolving it in water and muriatic acid, adjusting the ph value to 5.0 +/- 0.1 in sodium citrate buffer after dry infiltration, and potentiometric determination using the fluorine Ion selective electrode. This method is suitable for the accurate determination of fluorine content in iron ore.
