This standard specifies a method for the determination of nickel, zinc and manganese in gold, silver and palladium alloys by Inductance Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (AES) (ICP-AES). It is suitable for AuCuNiZn, AuNiCr, PdAgCuAuPtZn and other alloys. The determination range is 0.5% to 6% of nickel and zinc, and 0.01% to 0.5% of manganese. The method dissolves the sample by acid and uses the Internal standafard method for quantitative analysis, which provides a reliable technical means for the determination of trace elements in precious metal alloys.
