The ISO 1461-2022 "Hot-dip galvanized coatings on steel products - Specifications and test methods" standard specifies general performance requirements and test methods for dipping steel products into zinc melts to form hot-dip galvanized coatings. This standard applies to most steel products, but excludes continuous hot-dip galvanized sheet, wire and braided or welded mesh products, as well as galvanized tubing in automation equipment. The revised fourth edition contains updated terms and definitions with enhanced requirements for Coating thickness, corrosion resistance performance and post-treatment effects. This standard was developed jointly by ISO/TC 107 and CEN/TC 262 and is based on a technical cooperation agreement between ISO and CEN.
