Part 14 of this standard specifies nondestructive detection methods, general requirements and mass grades for ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, penetration testing and magnetic particle testing of steel castings. It is applicable to ultrasonic testing of alloy and non-alloy ferritic steel castings with thickness ≤ 600 mm, radiographic testing of steel castings with thickness ≥ 5 mm, magnetic particle testing of ferromagnetic steel castings and penetration testing of surface opening defects of steel castings. The standard does not apply to ultrasonic testing of austenitic steel castings. Through the implementation of the standard, it is possible to effectively evaluate the mass of steel castings and ensure their safety and Reliability during use.
