It is applicable to the design and testing of fuel cell stacks, with a focus on situations that pose a hazard to the human body and the environment. The standard does not address the requirements for storage and delivery devices for fuels and oxidation agents, and allows the use of new materials or structures, as long as the specified tests can be passed and the relevant requirements are met. Reliability and safety of fuel cell stacks in use can be ensured through this standard.
