The content of sulfur and carbon is determined by combustion of the sample in a high-frequency induction furnace, generating gas and passing through an infrared cell. The method is suitable for rare earth ferroalloys with a carbon content of 0.005% to 0.30% and a sulfur content of 0.0015% to 0.050%.
