This standard specifies the Measuring method for determining the Aeroacoustic Power level radiated by the vibration of the machine surface using the measurement of surface vibration. It is particularly suitable for enclosed machines where the sound pressure method cannot be used in the case of high background noise or complex environment. This standard applies to steady-state sound sources, only to noise radiated by the vibration of the closed solid structure surface, not to noise generated by aerodynamics. The acoustic Power radiated by the vibration of the entire machine structure is determined by the measurement of the vibration of various parts of the surface.
