This standard specifies the determination of sulfur content in ferroniobium by iodometry, methylene blue spectrophotometry and infrared absorption method, which are suitable for ferroniobium products with sulfur content in different ranges. The first method is iodometry, by heating the sample and oxidizing the sulfur to sulfur dioxide through oxygen combustion, and then titrating to the end point with potassium iodate standard titration solution to calculate the sulfur content. Reagents and materials include five oxidation disvanadium, lead sulfate and five oxidation disvanadium mixture, starch solution and potassium iodate standard titration solution, etc.
