      This standard describes methods for the determination of amorphous carbon, ash and volatile matter in carbon nanotube samples by thermogravimetric analysis under different atmospheres. It covers the selection of experimental atmosphere (carbon dioxide, oxygen and synthetic air mixture and nitrogen), sample preparation, experimental procedures, data processing and results reporting. It is suitable for single-walled and multi-walled carbon nanotube samples prepared by chemical vapor deposition (VD).
