What is their relationship?

All Spectrophotometer s contain a spectrometer. Color Spectrophotometer s, such as our X-Rite devices, are designed and calibrated to detect light in the visible spectrum, or near visible light such as ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR). Specialized spectrometers detect waves across the cosmic spectrum, such as radio waves, microwaves and alpha, beta and gamma radiation, among others.
